On June 5th, a delegation from AI-HSS, UESTC, led by Professor Zeng Yong, Dean of AI-HSS and Professor Shen Xiaorong, Executive Director of the Academic Council, visited Zhejiang University Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in Humanities and Social Sciences for an exchange seminar on developing humanities research institutes.

During the seminar, Professor Zhu Tianbiao, Chair of IAS's Executive Committee, provided a comprehensive overview of IAS's founding philosophy, academic programs, operational mechanisms, and support services. He also shared insights from its development journey and recent initiatives. Professor Zeng Yong then introduced AI-HSS's establishment background, operational framework, disciplinary focuses, and current progress.

The discussion deepened as both sides engaged in vibrant exchanges on topics including future development trajectories, funding and endowment strategies, sustainable growth models, and approaches to maintaining academic diversity.

Following the seminar, the AI-HSS delegation toured historic landmarks at Zhejiang University's Zhijiang Campus, including the Bell Tower (Tonghuai Hall), the Main Building (Severance Hall), and the library repurposed from heritage architecture.
