The Advanced Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (AI-HSS) is a substantive teaching and research institution set up by UESTC in December 2024 to promote the integrateddevelopment of disciplinary characteristics and to construct a high-quality, independent training system for top-notch innovative talents. The institute is led by Professor Zeng Yong, former president of UESTC and academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. The institute has been assembling a group of high-level and promising researchers and teaching staff through a combination of internal selection and external recruitment. It adheres to the deep integration of technology and humanities, focusing on areas such as ethics of science and technology, philosophy of science, language cognition and language intelligence, mathematical economics and econometrics, technological innovation and social change, and etc. The institute also conducts academic research and exchanges, talent cultivation, and social services. It fosters an academic spirit of independent personality, free exploration, mutual appreciation, and cross disciplinary collaboration, actively fostering an academic culture of seeking truth, nurturing sentiment, and achieving high realms. The institute is committed to making a historical contribution to the flourishing of philosophy and social sciences in the new era.
