The Ninth National Symposium on Second Language Processing was grandly held at Northwest Normal University from July 25 to 27, 2025. The event was jointly hosted by the Second Language Processing Professional Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and the journal Contemporary Foreign Languages Studies, and organized by the School of Foreign Languages and Literature of Northwest Normal University.

This conference attracted over 200 scholars and experts from 34 renowned universities and research institutions across China. Together, they explored cutting-edge topics in second language processing against the backdrop of interdisciplinary integration in the era of digital intelligence. The symposium featured eight keynote speeches and eight parallel forums. The keynote addresses covered diverse research areas such as cognitive neuroscience, language pathology, mental lexicon, and language and emotion.

Prof. Gao Shan chaired the parallel forum titled "Second Language Processing and Second Language Teaching" and delivered a keynote report titled "How Second Language Feedback Modulates Vocabulary Learning". Prof. Gao's presentation garnered extensive attention and sparked lively discussions among attendees, offering new theoretical perspectives and methodological support for advancing the internationalization of linguistic and cultural research and deepening disciplinary development.
