On November 29, 2025, Rachel Sandison, Vice-Principal of the University of Glasgow (UoG), led a delegation of eight to visit AI-HSS. The two sides held academic exchanges on talent cultivation and other topics, aiming to further deepen the long-term friendly cooperative relationship between the two universities. The meeting was chaired by Professor Lei Ruipeng, Vice Dean of AI-HSS.

Prof. Lei first extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced the guests present. Professor Zeng Yong, Dean of AI-HSS, began his speech by discussing the background of engineering education. He pointed out that since the MIT 1949 report, engineering education has always emphasized the equal importance of professional and general knowledge. In today's era of rapid technological development, engineering talents need to integrate knowledge from the humanities and social sciences even more.

Rachel Sandison thanked AI-HSS for its warm reception, reviewed the long-term cooperation achievements between the two universities, and expressed her appreciation for UESTC's exploration in the intersection of engineering and humanities.

This exchange was carried out in a friendly atmosphere, building an important bridge for both sides to further establish cooperative relations and achieve coordinated development in a broader range of fields.
