On December 25th, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of AI-HSS, a donation signing ceremony for the Development Fund of AI-HSS was held at the Qingshuihe Campus. Kong Lingjiang, Vice President and Executive Vice Chairman of the Education Development Foundation of UESTC, Zeng Yong, Dean of the Institute, Li Fuxiang, Vice President of Yunnan Biotree Biotechnology Group Co., Ltd., Zhang Daiwu, Vice President of Buffalo Robot Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., and Dai Guanglun, Executive Chairman of Sichuan Hebao Ruixiang Technology Co., Ltd., , as well as relevant officials from the University’s Cooperation and Development Department attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Kong Lingjiang stated that the prosperous development of humanities and social sciences is an important support for the high-quality development of universities. This donation is a vivid demonstration of enterprises' fulfillment of their social responsibilities and their support for the development of higher education. The University will cherish the support from all sectors of society, manage and use the funds in a standardized manner, promote the deep integration of science and technology with humanities, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating compound innovative talents and serving national strategic needs.

Zeng Yong, on behalf of the Institute, expressed gratitude to the three enterprises for their donations and presented donation certificates. He introduced that the University is actively promoting the construction of disciplines and the cultivation and introduction of talents in the field of humanities and social sciences. The donated funds will be mainly used to enhance the guarantee level for international talents and deepen cross-disciplinary research. The strong support from the enterprises not only injects strong impetus into the development of the institute but also demonstrates the responsibility and commitment of university-enterprise collaboration in talent cultivation and common development.

During the signing ceremony, Li Fuxiang, Zhang Daiwu, and Dai Guanglun, respectively representing their enterprises, signed the donation agreements with the head of the University’s Education Development Foundation.

After the donation ceremony, a seminar was held. Dai Guanglun said that as a traditionally strong engineering university, the vigorous development of humanities and social sciences at UESTC has positive significance for enhancing the comprehensive strength of the university. The integration and innovation of humanities and technology will provide intellectual support for the development of related industries. The enterprise will continue to focus on its main business and contribute to the development of the alma mater. Zhang Daiwu said that the growth of the enterprise is inseparable from the university’s strong support in talent cultivation and technological innovation. He looks forward to deepening cooperation with the university in the field of industry-university-research cooperation and promoting the transformation of achievements and talent cultivation. Li Fuxiang introduced the development overview of his enterprise and expressed his best wishes for the development of AI-HSS.
