At the invitation of UNESCO and appointed by the Chinese Government, Professor Lei Ruipeng from the School of Marxism / the Advanced Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, UESTC, attended the expert discussion on the draft ethical recommendations for neurotechnology at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. As a Chinese representative, Professor Lei actively engaged in global governance of emerging technologies and voiced China’s perspectives. Professor Lei put forward a series of revision suggestions on the draft ethical recommendations for neurotechnology, contributing Chinese wisdom in this regard. The recommendation will serve as the first global normative document in the ethical domain of neurotechnology, holding significant importance for balancing the rapid development of neurotechnology with ethics, and safeguarding human dignity and rights.
