Keynote Speaker:

Wang Guoyu is a Second-Class Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Philosophy, Fudan University. She is a national-level leading talent, Guest Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Stuttgart, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Ethics and Human Future (a joint institute of China Association for Science and Technology and Fudan University), and Director of the Center for Applied Ethics as well as the Center for Biomedical Ethics at Fudan University.

She also holds concurrent positions including Chair of the National Postgraduate Education Steering Committee for Applied Ethics, Member of the National Commission of Science and Technology Ethics, Executive President of the China Society for Science and Technology Ethics (preparatory), Co-Chair of the Professional Ethics and Academic Integrity Committee of the China Computer Federation, and Director of the Ethics Committee of the Shanghai International Human Phenome Project.

Previously, she served as Vice Dean of the Research Institute, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities, and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Dalian University of Technology. She also served as Director of the EU Research Center and the German Philosophy of Technology Research Center. She was also a recipient of the German DAAD Scholarship for research at the Department of Philosophy, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.

Prof. Wang is the Chief Expert of the Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China titled Research on Ethical Issues of High Technology, and Chief Scientist of the Key Special Project of the National Key R&D Program named Research on the Ethical, Policy and Legal Framework of Precision Medicine. She has presided over more than ten projects at or above the provincial and ministerial levels, and published over 100 papers in academic journals at home and abroad.

Her academic works include The Theoretical Construction of Technology Ethics and The Theories and Mechanisms of German Technology Ethics. She also serves as editor-in-chief of works such as Mindful of Details: Safety and Ethical Issues of Nanotechnology, Philosophical and Ethical Issues of High Technology and Cross-Cultural Dialogues on Science and Technology Ethics. Additionally, she has participated in compiling books including Bioethics, A General Introduction to Technology Ethics, A History of Science and Technology Ethics in China and Studies in German Philosophy of Technology. Her translated work is Nature and Power: A World History of the Environment.

She has won multiple academic awards, such as the Second-Class and Third-Class Awards of the Liaoning Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievements Award, and the Dalian Municipal Social Sciences Progress Award. In July 2024, she published a paper in Nature Human Behaviour, illustrating the role of Chinese ethics committees in promoting responsible research.
