On July 8, the Advanced Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (AI-HSS) hosted the 10th forum titled “Between and Beyond ‘Elitism’ and ‘Populism’: Contemporary Challenges in the Humanities,” featuring Professor Wan Junren from Tsinghua University. Professor Wan Xiaolong moderated the forum.

Professor Wan explored tensions between elitism and populism, citing Sino-U.S. relations, and arguing that the humanities must address real-world issues, bridge social divides, and provide integrated knowledge in the information age.

During the Q&A session, attendees engaged in lively discussions. The forum offered multidimensional perspectives on balancing technology and humanities.
