On September 22, AI-HSS hosted the 12th “Humanities × Technology” Thinkers’ Forum.
This forum, with the theme of "Intelligent Scenarios and Typical Applications of Discipline-based Education", has specially invited Professor Zhou Jianshe, Director of the China Language Intelligence Research Center of the National Language Commission, Chairman of the Language Intelligence Special Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, a Ph.D. from Wuhan University, a senior visiting scholar at the University of Texas and the University of Kansas in the United States, and former Vice Chancellor of Teaching and research at Capital Normal University, to be the keynote speaker. Hu Jiehui, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, served as the host.
At the beginning of the forum, Prof. Hu extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Professor Zhou, and introduced his resume and main academic achievements.

Professor Zhou shared his experiences of exploring and researching in the field of language intelligence, emphasizing its significance and development prospects in the new era. He also shared the practical application scenarios of language intelligence in the field of education based on his own practical experience in education. Prof. Zhou proposed to continue in-depth research on intelligent language tools to promote the improvement of human material living standards and meet the demands of language development in the new era, and also to further advance the deep integration of humanities and technology. Prof. Zhou encouraged the students present to actively explore and constantly innovate in the field of language intelligence, and to actively engage in research and practice in cutting-edge areas, making contributions to the country's scientific and technological progress and social development.

This forum focused on the practical application scenarios and future development of the field of language intelligence. Professor Zhou, with his profound academic attainments and rich practical experience, introduced in a simple and understandable way the significant meaning and broad prospects of language intelligence as a cutting-edge discipline integrating language and technology. He provided valuable academic insights for the attendees and the ideas and directions for academic research in the field of language intelligence.
